I think more than any other post I’ve done, these exquisite images put me in awe of the diversity of human activity on this planet.  Everything in these photographs is normal life to the people pictured, happening while I’m  busy with my own every-day existence and hanging out on my laptop. Yet, these artists have seen the beauty in the moment and captured it with just the right light and perspective, allowing us to travel to another amazing, stunning, inspiring place in our vast world.  I feel infinite gratitude.

Most of the following images are from The Hamdan International Photography Awards (HIPA), a yearly event sponsored by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, of Dubai. The contest showcases entries from around the world with a preponderance coming from the United Arab Emirates and India. The country mentioned reflects the photographer’s country of origin, not the country of the scene captured.
