When human ingenuity combines with the stunning and beautiful variety of flowers, we get to revel in more wonders.

Sometimes it takes an eye to see and a talent with photography to help us appreciate what we might otherwise miss.

The artists not only plan and build the framework of the sculpture and match the colors, they must design and understand the maintenance of each plant they use.

More than three million flowers were raised in greenhouses for the 2013 competition in Montreal, Canada. Designers use steel or aluminum forms that are wrapped in metal mesh, filled with earth and planted with flowers, ivies and grasses whose foliage provides texture and color. Interior watering systems and growing medium were added so that the flowers could last all through the summer. Some 200 horticultural artists participated representing 20 countries.

This Akita dog is very famous in Japan because of the touching and true story it represents. The dog accompanied his master to the railroad station every morning when he went to work, and then the dog met him again in the evening. When the man died, the dog continued meeting the train twice every day for ten years until he died. He is made up of various decorative grasses. The horses' manes are also made of grasses. The horses are twice the size of a normal horse; the dog is 8 feet high.

  1. Thank you ever so much for these beautiful pictures. Nature truly is a wonderful thing. I’m constantly impressed by the talent of some people too, the works of art they can create from the simplest of things……

  2. When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.
