Gandolph the Owl became increasingly frustrated and distressed at the North East Falconry Center in Scotland. When the man who ran the center, John Barrie, was given a goose egg by a neighbor, he saw an opportunity to soothe Gandolph’s angst. There was some concern because many birds, particularly owls, will ignore or kill an egg different than their own. Not Gandolf: The egg hatched, and she immediately took to mothering the baby, who quickly imprinted on her.

  18. Mountain Lion vs. Buck??? How does predator vs. prey belong here? It is exactly the opposite!

  19. I took that image to be a lion and buck standing peacefully, not one where the lion had taken down the buck. Doesn’t look like that to me. Does anyone else have an opinion about that? Please leave a comment.
