Welcome to information about my approach as a therapist.  I know it is vitally important that you find the right person to accompany you on your search for change and healing.  I invite you to consider the following brief description of my work.

Whatever life challenge or emotional pain has you considering therapy, our sessions will be tailored to your unique needs. If you struggle with low self esteem, we may explore your judgmental self-talk or consider your limiting beliefs. If you are feeling troubled or stuck in a personal relationship or at work, we might look at what’s in the way of finding clarity about the choices you have to make. What do you need to change in your circumstances? What do you need to accept? How can you communicate in a manner that increases understanding and reduces conflict?

Mind/body approaches such as EMDR and Emotional Freedom Technique are scientifically proven methods that we might use to address trauma or deep emotional wounds.

If you struggle with anxiety or depression, we might combine any or all of the above.

My style is holistic. I have over 20 years of experience exploring life’s challenges by addressing the mind, body and spirit with clients and with myself. I am a compassionate listener and together we create an atmosphere of safety and support for your inward journey.

Finally, therapy is not only about dealing with problems; it’s also about nurturing strengths. It’s obvious life can be challenging, even tragic. I understand that there are times when no ray of sunshine shines through the dark. In that case, we focus on coping with the problems at hand.

I also know from my work as a therapist and in my own life that in the midst of the most difficult times, moments of respite, appreciation, love or laughter are often found.

Thanks to an expanding body of research in how the brain works, we know it’s possible to intentionally cultivate such moments, increasing our inner resources and feelings of well-being. We can literally create new pathways in our brains that heighten our ability to notice instances of positive experience in the midst of the most trying times.

It is my hope that you find something helpful in the resources and quotes as well as in the wonders of this site.
